Questions
What happens to people who bought my film on Vimeo?
They can watch their Vimeo library until November 20, 2026, then lose access, and Vimeo says purchases can’t be transferred to other platforms. Tell your audience where the film lives now by sharing your new film page link.
Do I have to upload the film again?
Yes. The link imports the page, not the video: add the film file from your computer, and your page builds while it uploads.
Until when can I import from my Vimeo link?
As long as your Vimeo On Demand page is online, so before November 20, 2026. After that, you type the title and synopsis and add the artwork yourself.
Are my Vimeo prices kept?
When your Vimeo page still shows them in dollars or euros, the rental and purchase prices and the rental period fill in, converted to your currency at the day’s rate if needed. Otherwise you set them yourself, and you can change them before going live.
Will my Vimeo links keep working?
No. Vimeo takes its On Demand pages offline on November 20, 2026, so replace the link on your website, social profiles, emails and festival pages with your new film page.
When do I get paid?
Every month, to your bank through Stripe, after a 30-day hold that covers refunds, once your balance reaches $20. A smaller balance is paid anyway after 90 days.
