About the film

Thirty-three-year-old Tomass Marnics from Latvia put together a team of the world's best extreme kayakers to run the legendary Saryjaz river. The goal of the expedition is the “Eyes of God”, a mystical rock wall in the no man's land between Kyrgyzstan and China that resembles an oversized face.

For ten days the team will be cut off from any civilisation, in deep and inaccessible gorges, sleeping under the open sky. They have to face rapid after rapid at the absolute limit. An undertaking where no mistake is allowed.

The ten-strong team around Tomass Marnics includes three-time extreme kayak world champion Sam Sutton from New Zealand, Russian champion Egor Vosboynikov, reigning extreme kayak world champion Gerd Serrasolses from Spain, multiple canoe slalom world champion Fabian Dörfler from Germany, and two award-winning filmmakers: Jared Meehan from New Zealand and Olaf Obsommer from Germany.
